La Main A La Pate - Science Training

VoilĂ  !
I'm having a very busy schedule couples of days till the end of month, undergoing the Science Training at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The word "La Main A La Pate" is actually words in French which mean "learning Science through inquiry". The facilitator is Miss Estelle who is a lecturer from Niche University in France. New ideas about teaching Science using the inquiry approach are discussed and I am very lucky too to be chosen one of the "going-to-be trainers". Despite the hectic schedule, I think this is such a beneficial experience in deed. However, I miss my kids especially in the afternoons....
Random pictures of UBD and from where I was graduated with B Ed Primary Education (Mathematics and Science). I really miss the uni life...

Some experiments we carried out during the workshops.

The lecturer showed us how to observe the image of the sun during the solar eclipse on 22nd July at 8.45 a.m. till 10.45 a.m. using a box. She poked a small hole and the image of the eclipse can be seen inside.

Above ~ We observe our own shadows..and below is myself with Cg Zahidatul...

Smile!...while experimenting with the moon replica. I will post some pix about the science training again soon...

Oh dear....

You must be thinking why our Habibati is crying buckets?
You must be wondering....what have these words 'moush'...'plane'....'horsh'...'kar'....gotta do with her sadness? well..well..well.....these are the answers to those questions.....
I know most of you have gone through this situation too ya....*smile*
Note: We are grateful that Habibati doesn't reject to wear the mask while in public as the swine flu cases here are still increasing..so we take the safety precaution.
The funny thing is that --> She is still too small to understand everything about the current pandemic, so we 'have' to say that wearing a mask can make us look like a robot..opps!

Habibi's Cozy Comfy Hide-out

This bean bag bag has been very practical for Habibi eversince he was a baby. This picture was taken when he was 3 months old *chuckled* Isn't he adorable?
and now.....look what happen....

He seems to be very comfortable with it.... and more.......he would make this bean bag into this one!! ;)

At Granny's House

When we 'balik kampung' at my parents-in-law's house, my kids' favourite spot will always be their grandfather's office. Granny couldn't say anything as his 'office' is conquered by these super grandchildren.
With the other cousins, they will together making his table their working station.
After playing...being active for the whole day....
....it's 'nenen' time!

Feverish Habibati

Habibati's voice has been husky for almost a week already. Whenever I measured her body temperature, the results were always between 35 and 36.4 degrees celcius. However, when I touched her forehead, she seemed to be very warm. There must be some errors with our digital thermometer (OMRON brand). Then when we brought her to the doctor, it was in deed true! Habibati was feverish and her body temp was 37.8 degrees celcius. I even checked her temp using our own digital thermometer which sadly had shown 35.3 degrees celcius! mmmmm...got to buy a new one...(in fact my hubby bought it at BND80) ;(

The examination result --> Habibati's larynx had an infection which led to ulcers. Since she didn't have flu and cough, the doctor only prescribed her with an augmentine antibiotic suspension and an orange-flavoured paracetamol.

At home, I don't have problem giving her medicines. She is as usual very cooperative and even says "yummy!" *chuckled*

We are so thankful to Allah that Habibati is recovering...we really miss to hear her original sweet girly voice. Get well soon darling!

Laksa Johor

Last night we didn't feel like eating rice so we had 'Laksa Johor' for dinner. We have tried eating two Malaysian noodle-based dishes such as Laksa Sarawak and Laksa Penang. Now that I have bought the instant Laksa Johor, why not I tried my luck with this one. Furthermore, the availability of the basic ingredients made this fabulous dish a reality.
Above, the instant 'perencah Laksa Johor' and I only used some Rostris prawns.
Below shows the condiments or garnishing for the dish namely sawi, cucumber, lime, tomatoes and spring onions.

Comments --> This dish is graded A++ although I made some modifications with the actual recipe stated on the packet. What I did was that I doubled the amount of coconut milk so that the gravy stayed less spicy. You can add more to this dish such as chicken, squids, tofu and sprouts. Overall.....I will make this dish again in the near future....it's yummy...believe me!

Our Bath Time Hero

Our hero is so magnetized to his 'machine gun' even during his bath time. It is making us worried if his 'weapon' is spoiled because water may get inside it. I was so 'geram' and snapped him naked! LOL..

Buah Tarap

The fruit season is just about to come and this one I think is the starter. I guess most of you have not seen such fruit. It's very popular and widely grown in the Borneo Island. Locally it is called 'buah tarap'. It is spiky but not sharp. The inside pulp is .......mmmm......so sweet..so luscious...and so tempting. But tarap has such a strong scent which means nobody can hide this fruit if it's already ripe hehheee.......and I can eat up a whole fruit if the size is medium ;). But what I like is to turn it into 'cucur' as shown below.
But I really wonder..what do you call this fruit if it can be found in your place?

Uniquely Singapore (Ending)

This is ending part of my entry about 'Uniquely Singapore'........

We were very much attracted by the lovely in-door gardens of the Changi Airport. We checked in very early although our flight was scheduled at 945p.m. just to enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful gardens in the departure hall.

How I wished our home was equipped with this pond filled with colourful koi fishes. Habibati was overjoyed seeing these fishes and kept on saying 'fish..fish...'.

Beautiful orchids by the fish pond....mmm.....so calming....so soothing... a tranquility....
Habibati's actions there.....
Unexpectedly, our flight was delayed from 945p.m. to 1215 a.m. (what????) so we were then sponsored *smile* with a supper comprising 3 sets of meals that night at Burger King, as a complimentary. These were what we had......

hot chocolate....so warm and yummy....

Tasty double whopper burgers....*burp* grade A!

and chips...just like the typical ones...

Our Burger QUEEN!

Now...our sleeping beauty on board....*giggles*
