A Hard Time With Medicine....

Habibati was feverish at 37.8 to 38.5 yesterday morning and night. Today she is still at 37.5 to 37.7 when I checked her body temperatures at the 30-minute intervals. I am having a very hard time giving her medicine....she knows the taste and rejects with all her heart!

Yesterday, I had to wrestle with her with an aim to get the 4ml paracetamol into her tummy. But I failed all the way! Poor me.....she won the battle by just spitting out all the PCM @~@

Then...I let her relax first while I was thinking hard again how to coax her.....*Im sort of phobia of her being warded again*

My failures -->
....mixing the PCM with her milk ---> she rejected her milk and won't ask for bottled-milk but my breastmilk only!
....coaxing her with chocolate balls but she cried aloud for the choco ball instead!
....offering her Nutella ---> she just simply said "NO"

Suddenly I remembered about the Vitagen *she loves this to the max* in the fridge. So I took the lucky only one left and started making my magic portion for her. Then, I gave her....she gave me a big smile and took it without fuss at all! Phew......my trick had worked this time....
While watching Barney...she almost drank half of the 'magic portion'.....*a big smile drawn on Ummi's face*

She even licked her finger which proved that Ummi's magic portion was so irresistably yummy. Do you notice the rejected bottled milk behind? *giggle*

See here...just a little bit more...and eventually she gulped all clean....and I repeatedly praising her *winks*

Above shows my new trick by mixing the PCM with Milo. She didn't realize the taste difference at all and another new mission accomplished! Happy me......(';^) But what had driven me crazy......were those potato chips....which I don't really prefer my kids to eat. She forced Ayah into buying this junk foodie when she followed him to buy the Milo. ;-(

I used to wrestle with Gwen too when feeding her med. But my girl was not so smart spitting out the med..haha. Now she is older, she takes her med willingly. Just tell her, if she wants to feel better she must take the med..hehe..works everytime.

Be patient Ummi. The day will come when Habibati willingly take her med. At least you found a method that works for you..hehe.

Speedy recovery to Habibati.
