Down with HFMD

Our girl has been confirmed having 'hand, foot & mouth disease' (HFMD). It was really a heartache to see her with those redness and mouth ulcers. Thank goodness that she does not develop high fever at all...however there are lots of red 'blisters' on her palms and feet.
We did not have any ideas how she got this disease...no matter how strict we are with the cleanliness...by having the hand sanitizers and wet tissues handy :( .

At first, she complained that she had some pain in her mouth and when I checked into her mouth, I found out two mouth ulcers and I really thought they were normal. Then on the next day, she cried and rejected foods and milk. I felt something must have gone wrong so I checked her palms and feet....yes...there were some blisters!!! *alarmed + panicked*

We rushed her to the private clinic and yes...it is HFMD. She must be quarantined at home for a week and together with Habibi too!
We applied this gel into her mouth ulcers..as advised by the doctor, the function of the gel is to numb her mouth so that she can eat and drink milk normally. Yes...this gel has worked wonders...

Since this disease is a viral infection...so there is no specific medicine prescribed. The panadol syrup was given only to kill the pain in the mouth. The doctor advised us to give her yogurt drinks and soft foodies only.

Syukur alhamdullilah today (Day 4) she eats normally and I can see the mouth ulcers almost disappear and the blisters on her palms and feet are also subsiding. Hopefully by Day 7 of quarantine, all the mouth ulcers and blisters will disappear totally.
She requested for some fried chicken skin...haha...I would cook anything as long as she eats...get well soon love...

Craving Craziness

The effect of my PMS.......craving for these little cuties....from KRR....
Too bad, we do not have KRR here yet.... (=_=)'.....

Last month....we had gone across the border....yes...Miri! The KRR branch was newly opened here...at Bintang Mall.

While waiting......

The foods that we ordered were simply delicious.......
but not the spaghetti which was very sour.
The complimentary choc muffins were still the best so far....

My Homemade Mackerel Umai

I have never tasted 'umai' before.....but I have known about its popularity....a delicacy from Sarawak. I am making my own 'umai' using the mackerel fillets. But we can use shrimps too.

How I made this dish.....

Mackerel fillets (slice thinly)
Shallots and ginger (slice thinly)
Tomatoes (cut into small cubes)
Limes (as much as you desire)
Bird's eye chili (cut thinly)
Little brown sugar and salt

Mix all in a bowl and leave to rest for 1 or 2 hours at room temperature.
I left it for 2 hours because I was worried if the fish fillets would still taste fishy....LOL...

Review -->   Supa-dupa delicious and appetizing...!

Our Mini Garden Update

Yesterday was a superb Sunday for us....I believe just like you all right?

We had brunch at the Lotus Family Restaurant which served most of the North and South Indian delicacies. I chose the lunch set comprising one plain rice and a round tray filled with condiments. My darling hubby had a compact bowl of delicious chicken briyani and for the kids they only chose plain prata with curry dhall.

Then, in the afternoon, we did the outside activity....'updating' the mini garden. It has been a fortnight that we did not do the weeding and pruning...(*_*)...

Here are some random pictures of the mini garden....we are happy to see the healthy plants now bearing flowers and fruits....

Alhamdulillah.....rezeki Allah...

My First Experience - Nasi Dagang Trengganu

This was my very first time preparing Nasi Dagang Trengganu. I guess the aromatic flavour of the fenugreek (halba) makes the rice so special......and well-accompanied by the curry tuna and the cucumber+carrot acar.

Luvly...Alhamdulillah....syukur nikmat Illahi.....

The Garden Shop

When we were hunting for the sunflower seeds (in my previous post), we went to this newly opened garden shop. We like most of the flowers planted in the nursery there....most of them are the seedlings from the seeds that they sell.

This tomato vines have inspired my hubby to make one at home...
These looks almost like lavender...but they aren't....and now I forget the name told by the owner...(+,+)...
These beautiful flowers are sold at the range from BND$5 to BND $15.....I bought one...as the trial....

This greenhouse in especially for growing broccoli but I didnt get inside it as our kids were running here and there...hahaha...

There are also white lotus plants....but I didn't take the pictures. They were only for display and I kept on asking the owner to sell the baby lotus to me...but the owner refused to do so.

We will come over again to see more new baby plants and to get inspired of course! *winks*

Habibi's Drawing

Habibi is now more attracted to military-themed toys. I like to observe the way he arranges his army base but sometimes I become very mad when the toy soldiers are left on the floor or hidden in the carpet...and I end up having 'tortured' feet after stepping on these plastic miniatures! hahaa

But when I look at the bright side of playing the military-themed toys....we are amazed by how he expresses his feelings/emotions through the play into a drawing. Since he is a speech-delayed child, we, as parents, have to ask him about his drawing. His communication skills now are improving...alhamdulillah...he can explain about the soldiers who are struggling in a battle...(^,^)...

Hope they will grow well....

Habibati would love to have sunflowers in our garden, so off we went to the garden shop. The garden shop that we visited was newly opened and I love their environmental concept....will blog about this shop soon ya....

Luckily we found the sunflower seeds which was sold in packets. I only bought a packet of the sunflower seeds and a packet of zinnia seeds too. The boss told me that the seeds were of high quality seeds from Taiwan. Wish me luck ...(",)...

Habibati herself sowed the seeds.....hopefully she has that green fingers...LOL...

and the seeds germinated three days later...alhamdulillah...

Below...the trial plant that I bought for BND$5 per pot. I am not sure about its name but I like these flowers. The seller said this plant can be pruned often to encourage new shoots and flowers. I hope so....just wait and see....

My Pink Lotus Plant

I bought this lotus plant few weeks ago.....this plant will bear pink lotus flowers. Actually, I was looking for the white lotus plants but such plants are not available here...  :(

After a week this plant was under my supervision....it has shown great progress which made me happy. But as soon as it grows more leaves......I notice there are some bugs attaching on the stems. I was really frustrated....I even see some eggs and larva floating on the water....as you can see in the following picture....

Have you ever encountered the same case with your lotus plants? If you do....please share some tips....thanks in advance.

Paging ----> CathJ ....please do help me [@_@]
I have actually googled up for the tips and how to take care of lotus plants but I could not find the exact case like mine.

What I did?
I sprayed my lotus with the water-based Shelltox! (^_^)
The leaves are not affected and more baby leaves are growing. I notice some bugs have dissappeared but I can't be happy yet.  Will keep on doing some close observations...
