The Nutritious "Salad"

I need these winged beans or kacang sirip as we call this here...mmm....refreshing... I need this lovely torch ginger or bunga kantan.....mmmm....aromatic....
I need some kedondong.....or ambarella fruits.....mmmm...sweet-sour....
As a result......we had this as our side dish for dinner last night....
Just look at the colour blends....nice ya....
Their health benefits:
Ambarella fruit is considered to be a good source of vitamin C and it is suggested that is has some value in aiding diabetes, heart ailment and urinary troubles. Winged bean is a good source of protein. It contains abundant natural vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. The torch ginger flowers are considered to be one of the medicinal herbs that can maintain youthfulness in women.
Note : I google up the above images and information...and paste them here to share with you all...

CathJ ~ Nak tanya u...u panggil sayur belimbing? yang mana satu tu Cathj? Kalo sini belimbing is a kind of fruit which is a star fruit. But here I didnt include it.

The other ingredients are : belacan (shrimp paste), shallots, birds' eye chilies and limau katruri (lime). Salt and sugar to taste.

Oops, you just tempted me with the kacang sirip.. but we call it kacang botol here in Penang.

I love to eat it with sambal, lebih pedas lebih hangat. lebih sedap. If i see Malay foods got these kacang botol, i wil sure take about 6 or seven then with a lot of sambal and just one ekor of fried fish,, i tell you, this is what i call a heavenly dish.

hey Ummi, have a good weekend, dont mind me adding you to my blog roll.? ask for permission first ma

Hello Ummi, nice blog you have. And from what you posted, you sure know about healthy living.
That 'wing bean' is one of THE most healthiest beans one can eat....and I just love it, plain boiled and chelop sambal, ha ha.
Your salad looks sinfully delicious, a guarantee tiga pingan nasi and couple of loud 'burrrps', ha ha.

You have a pleasant weekend and keep a song in your heart, best regards, Lee.

wow..nice color it turn out. Bunga kantan got a strong smell, am I right?

Read your reply to CJ, the sayur belimbing she refers is actually the kacang sirip. Sabahan often call it kacang belimbing. :)
